REDONDO BEACH, CA A manhunt in Redondo Beach ended with four suspects in custody Sunday in connection with the shooting death of another man.
Police spent the night Saturday searching for four men considered armed and dangerous while residents in the area of the police perimeter were instructed to lock their doors and stay inside.
It started with a shooting reported at about 8 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of North Juanita Avenue, according to Redondo Beach police Lt. Shawn Freeman. Officers arrived on the scene to find a mortally wounded man. The gunshot victim was rushed by paramedics to a hospital and pronounced dead, Freeman said.

OLYMPIA, WA Washington s top lawmakers are debating the creation of a new agency, one which would independently investigate deadly uses of force by the state s law enforcement officers.
On Wednesday, House Bill 1267 passed the House on a vote of 57-39. If approved by the Senate, the bill would create the Office of Independent Investigations an agency serving under the governor, comprised of non-law enforcement personnel and tasked solely with reviewing incidents in which police kill civilians.

GAITHERSBURG, MD The August 2020 disappearance of a Gaithersburg man is no longer a missing persons case, but a homicide investigation, authorities announced Wednesday.
Jose Gonzalez, known as Piti to his friends, was reported missing by relatives on Aug. 23, according to Montgomery County police. He was 32 at the time of his disappearance. Through investigation, detectives have collected information that has led them to believe that Gonzalez was murdered, police said Wednesday. They did not say what kind of evidence they collected.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD A Havre de Grace man is being held without bail in Cecil County after police said he tried to solicit sex from an undercover officer posing as a minor online.
Fred Packard, 73, is charged with one count of sexual solicitation of a minor, court records show.
Police said Packard, who lives in the 100 block of Bay Boulevard, had been talking with a trooper posing as a 14-year-old boy through an online dating application. The trooper in the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit had been monitoring the app since December, according to officials.
