VIRGINIA Over the past couple of weeks, the vaccination process has gotten smoother for senior citizens and other high-priority groups. On Feb. 24, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam said 1.7 million Virginians are now registered for the vaccine after the previous week s launch of a statewide registration form and hotline.
Last week, the Biden administration announced an increase in vaccine allocations to states. That has brought Virginia s latest weekly allocation from 130,000 doses to about 161,000 doses. Winter weather had delayed the weekly shipment last week, but that shipment and the current week s shipment are arriving.

ARLINGTON, VA Virginia Department of Health confirmed 79 additional cases of COVID-19, the illness associated with the new coronavirus, Monday in the Arlington Health District. That s down from the 154 new cases reported on Sunday, which was most new cases reported in a single day in Arlington since the beginning of the pandemic. The previous high was 152 new cases on Dec. 6.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Arlington Health District stands at 8,054.
One new death was reported in the Arlington Health District on Monday. The total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Arlington now stands at 169. A total of 634 people have been hospitalized in Arlington due to COVID-19.

ARLINGTON, VA Virginia Department of Health confirmed 62 additional cases of COVID-19, the illness associated with the new coronavirus, Tuesday in the Arlington Health District. That s down slightly from the 68 new cases reported on Monday. This brings the total number of cases to 7,525.
No new deaths were reported in the Arlington Health District on Tuesday. The total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Arlington remains at 164.
A total of 615 people have been hospitalized in Arlington due to COVID-19.
