Local detectives investigate child pornography claims from task force

The Daily Jeffersonian Guernsey County sheriff s detectives acting on a referral from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force continued to investigate alleged child pornography offenses carried out by two individuals. The alleged victim is not a resident of Guernsey County, according to authorities. The investigation is focused on a 48-year-old woman who resides in Senecaville and a 38-year-old man whose home address remained unknown as of press time. No charges had been filed as of press time Monday. According to reports from the Guernsey County Sheriff s Office, the agency received a referral from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at approximately 10:24 a.m. Friday and an investigation was launched by detectives.

Hutchinson man found dead day before court hearing in child porn case

By The News staff A Hutchinson man accused of trading in child pornography on the internet was found deceased in his home this week, a day before he was scheduled in court on the case. Jeremy K. Seachris, 41, faced counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a child for trading in child pornography and possessing child pornography involving children under age 14. Hutchinson Police Detective Scott Carlton previously told The News he was contacted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Wichita about trading occurring from Hutchinson on a peer-to-peer network.  After police obtained a search warrant for Seachris’ home on Columbia Drive, investigators seized several computers, phones, and other electronic equipment containing hundreds of images of both male and female children, Carlton said.

(WMBF) - A Florence County man is now in custody, facing over a dozen child sexual exploitation charges. The office of South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced Wednesday the arrest of Terry Jenkins Matthews, Jr., of Johnsonville. A press release from the office states Matthews is facing 14 charges linked to the sexual exploitation of minors. Investigators with the attorney general’s office and Homeland Security Investigations assisted the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force with the investigation, in which they state Matthews distributed and possessed files of child sexual abuse material.
