Sgt. Brian Walker, public information officer for the Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post, said the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was attempting to serve a search warrant at 2436 South Wayne Ave. The homeowner let officers inside, but the officers heard someone loading a gun, Walker said. Fort Wayne officers were called about 10:30 a.m. and have been trying to get the person inside to come out. He was later taken into custody

GEORGE A Las Vegas man is in jail in Washington County after task force agents caught him allegedly trying to lure a young girl to a prearranged meeting under the premise of performing a sexual act. On Friday, a 45-year-old Nevada man, Wayne Clarence Morris Jr., was arrested in Washington County during an active operation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The arrest stems from an investigation that was set in motion when the suspect allegedly went online and began communicating with what he believed was a 13-year-old girl that was actually an undercover agent posing as a teen.

State police charge ACI guard with sending indecent material to minor

The Providence Journal SCITUATE  A long-time guard at the Adult Correctional Institutions was charged Tuesday with sending porn to someone he thought was a 14-year-old boy. The minor was not real but a collaboration by investigators from the Rhode Island State Police computer crimes unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The police watched communication grow between the suspect and the decoy until it was sexually explicit. Then the suspect sent indecent material, a news release said. Thomas P. Nolan, 56, of 2198 Elmwood Ave., Warwick, who has worked at the ACI as a correctional officer since February of 1990, was arrested Tuesday in Cranston. He was charged with two counts of electronically disseminating indecent material to a minor.

Apr 14, 2021 A Pickaway County man is facing charges of rape and disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile, in Scioto County. Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman stated that his office has been working jointly with the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbus Police Department on several cases involving children being sexually assaulted. The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office was contacted on February 17, 2021 by a third party, reporting that several people had been sexually assaulted. The sexual assaults were reported to have occurred in Scioto, Pickaway and Franklin Counties. Lt. Johnathan Strawser, Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, and Detective Jodi Conkel, Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, worked jointly on the investigation. The joint investigation resulted in an arrest warrant being issued in Scioto County.
