Alden Graves: America s other plague

Don t miss the big stories. Like us on Facebook.   I know two things for certain about the plague of gun violence in America: 1.) Something more than “thoughts and prayers” has got to be done about it and 2.) I don’t know what that something is. Plucking seashells out of the ocean would probably be an easier task than eliminating guns from this nation and no one alive at this moment will live to see that day. And it seems increasingly likely that many people living today may not be living tomorrow because of it. We have become numb to the carnage. Ask yourself what your first reaction — spoken or thought — is when you hear there has been another mass shooting in this country. I would wager it’s a resigned shrug and a how many this time question.

FedEx shooting: New details revealed on guns used, timeline

The 19-year-old who shot and killed eight people at FedEx used two AR-15 style rifles in an attack that lasted less than four minutes, Indianapolis police announced Monday evening. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said Brandon Scott Hole used an HM Defense HM15F and Ruger AR-556 in Thursday s shooting that ended before officers arrived. Police said Monday there is no indication the guns had modifications.  A trace revealed that Hole, a former FedEx employee, legally bought the HM Defense HM15F in July, and the Ruger AR-556 in September. He began the violent rampage in the parking lot, shooting and killing four people there and another four people were found dead inside the FedEx center. Hole then killed himself.

April 19, 2021 Share The former employee who shot and killed eight people at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis legally bought the two rifles used in the attack despite red flag laws designed to prevent such purchases, police said. A trace of the two guns found by investigators at the scene revealed that suspect Brandon Scott Hole, 19, of Indianapolis, legally bought the rifles last July and September, officials with the Indianapolis police said Saturday. The police did not say where Hole bought what they described as “assault rifles,” citing the ongoing investigation, but said he was seen using both rifles during the shooting.
