6 Dead in Indianapolis Mass Shooting, Including Pregnant Woman and Her Unborn Child
Six people were killed in a mass shooting incident in Indianapolis over the weekend, including a pregnant woman and her unborn child, officials confirmed, describing the crime as a “different kind of evil.”
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to an emergency call at about 4 a.m. on Sunday about a juvenile male who had been shot in the city’s northeast side. Police located the juvenile with apparent gunshot wounds, IMPD Sgt. Shane Foley told reporters at a press briefing.
Foley said as officers investigated the boy’s shooting, about 40 minutes later officers found five people dead in a nearby home, also from apparent gunshot wounds.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Authorities on Sunday evening identified five people found shot to death in a home on the city’s east side.
Kezzie Childs, 42; Raymond Childs Jr., 42; Elijah Childs, 18; Rita Childs, 13; and Kiara Hawkins, 19, and her unborn son died in what IMPD Chief Randal Taylor called the largest mass casualty shooting in more than a decade in the city.
In a Sunday afternoon news conference, Mayor Joe Hogsett called the shooting “an act of evil in our city,” “a terror to our community” and “a mass murder” and vowed that local and federal authorities were coming for those responsible: “Coming for them today, coming for them tonight, coming for them tomorrow, and the day after that, coming for them as long as it takes to find them.”
