The News Broadcasters Association on Monday said the WhatsApp messages between Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami and former Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) CEO Patho Dasgupta showed that the two were colluding to manipulate ratings.
In a statement, the NBA said it was shocked to see the messages exchanged between the two and demanded that Republic TV be expelled from the Indian Broadcasting Foundation.

The News Broadcasters Association (NBA) on Monday expressed its shock and disappointment to see hundreds of WhatsApp messages that have been exchanged between Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami and former Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) head Partho Dasgupta and demanded the suspension of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) membership of Republic TV with immediate effect.
In a statement, the Rajat Sharma-headed NBA said it is shocked to see hundreds of WhatsApp messages that have been exchanged between BARC India s former CEO Partho Dasgupta and Arnab Goswami, Managing Director, ARG Outlier Media Pvt. Ltd .

In a statement issued on Monday, NBA has said that the manipulation of ratings by Republic TV has “immensely damaged” the “reputation” of the broadcast industry and therefore it should be kept out of BARC rating system till final court order.
