WASHINGTON U.S. House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy said Tuesday congressional GOP members were concerned about the ability of Liz Cheney, who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump in January and whose anti-Trump stance remained firm, to carry out her job as House Republican conference chair. Asked during the Fox & Friends program whether Republicans were unhappy about Cheney, the No.3 GOP member in the House, over her impeachment vote, McCarthy said the concern was not about her decision to impeach Trump, but rather her ability to fulfill her leadership duty carrying out the party s message as the 2022 midterm election nears.
