President Dr Arif Alvi says Pakistan highly values its ties with Saudi Arabia and wants to further strengthen relations with the brotherly country.
He was talking to Pakistan s Ambassador-designate to Saudi Arabia Lt. Gen. (R) Bilal Akbar, who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday.
The President said both the countries have shared bonds of history, culture, traditions, faith and values, and hold commonality of views on regional and international issues.
Emphasizing the need to facilitate Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia, the President asked the Ambassador-designate to help address the issues being faced by the Pakistani community.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to roll over a $2 billion loan to Pakistan, the country’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan told Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in a meeting, the Foreign Office said in a statement on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Nahyan also affirmed UAE’s commitment to ‘extend every possible support to Pakistan’. Qureshi thanked Nahyan for the decision, saying it “reflected the warm and brotherly ties” between the two countries.
In a separate statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said the UAE’s decision was “yet another manifestation of the close cooperative relations between the two countries”. “We greatly appreciate the UAE’s continued support and cooperation,” he added.
Paskistan, UAE agree to strengthen trade relations

Paskistan and United Arab Emrites have agreed to exchange business delegations to promote bilateral trade and economic cooperation in different fields.
The agreement was reached in a meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and the UAE Minister of State Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh in Abu Dhabi.
During the talks, they discussed greater cooperation in areas of economy and trade.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi highlighted the immense investment potential Pakistan offers to the UAE, which can be best explored through business to business connect between the two countries.
Foreign Minister also apprised the UAE Minister of State about gross human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Afghan Peace Process and overall security situation in the region.
