India will be funding Nepali Rs 246 million for the reconstruction of three more Cultural Heritage projects in Nepal after six out of the 28 heritage sites contracts have already been reconstructed.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Contract Agreements for restoration and reconstruction were signed on Wednesday for Jestha Varna Mahavihara in Lalitpur, Sulighyang Gumba, and Shermathang Gumba located in Sindhupalchowk district, according to Ministry of External Affairs Ministry (MEA) release.

This is first of the Indian governmentâs Rs 580 crore assistance programme to conserve, restore and retrofit 28 cultural sites across eight districts of Nepal that were impacted by the gruesome earthquakes in 2015. The governments of the two countries signed Memorandums of Understandings (MoU) regarding this issue in August 2017 and thereby jointly identified the 28 concerned sites for this project too.

Early morning on February 18, Chandni Chowk resident Banke Bihari Mittal received a phone call from a neighbour telling him to be present at the central verge of the historic stretch in Old Delhi that has the Red Fort at one end and Fatehpuri Masjid on the other.
A structure, coated with stickers of Jindal stainless steel, in the design of a temple, containing a Hanuman idol, had been established on the central verge that morning. The temple had been demolished on January 3 following orders from the Delhi High Court for the implementation of the Chandni Chowk redevelopment plan.
