India saw the birth of two new unicorns this week – both their valuations have swelled multiple times in just a few months

While Innovaccer’s valuation jumped three times in seven months to $1.3 billion, Infra.market’s valuation was last known to be just $200 million in December 2020. While Innovaccer, founded in 2014, has raised a total of $225 million, the four-year old Infra.market has raised $150 million till date.India added two new unicorns this week to its rapidly growing club of startups with over a billion dollar valuations. Innovaccer, a healthcare technology company, and Infra.market, a startup that helps real estate companies to procure materials, have both raised funds this week and become the latest unicorns.

The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange program. The annual list appears in The Chronicle of Higher Education. Six Iowa State scholars were offered Fulbright Awards for 2020-21. “The hallmark of an Iowa State education is a unique combination of practical and critical thinking skills that prepare students for success long after their time on campus has ended,” said Senior Vice President and Provost Jonathan Wickert. “In today’s global society, the ability to learn from the international experiences of our faculty has never been more important.”

Inaugural edition of AP Kanvinde Memorial Lecture Series witnesses enlightening deliberations on architecture

It was organized by the Department of Architecture and Planning in honour of Late Architect Padma Shri A.P. Kanvinde, who is also well known as the Father of Modern (Post Independent) Indian Architecture. The theme of the inaugural session was ‘Architecture in Context.’ The event was graced by Architect Rahul Mehrotra, a renowned scholar and Professor, Harvard University, USA and Architect Sanjay Kanvinde as esteemed speakers. Prof. Ajit K. Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee, Prof. Gaurav Raheja, Convener, AP Kanvinde Lecture Series and Prof. P. S. Chani welcomed the speakers on behalf of the institute.

  Leading scientists from Queen’s University Belfast are partnering with researchers from Indian institutions including the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru and the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi to establish joint data science and digital health projects in areas such as vaccine design for pandemic threats, artificial intelligence, and genomic analysis in cancer. The scientists will come together at a virtual symposium today (Thursday 25 February 2021) to share their insights and expertise in the fields of data science and digital health, which has the potential of unlocking highly effective solutions to global health challenges. Together, the scientists will look at several new research possibilities to unlock the power of ‘big data’ to enhance outcomes in disease such as cancer and eye disease, while also addressing some of the complex ethical issues that the use of big data raises.
