China Trolls Trump with Invite to Heavily-Censored Weibo
China’s state-run
Global Times on Thursday relayed a mocking “warm welcome” from Chinese social media users to former U.S. President Donald Trump, inviting him to join China’s heavily-censored Weibo microblogging platform now that he has filed a lawsuit against Facebook and Twitter.
Trump filed a class-action lawsuit against Facebook, Twitter, Google, and their respective CEOs over their censorship practices on Wednesday. Trump and his colitigants, the America First Policy Institute, invited Americans who have been deplatformed by big tech to join the case.

Global Times observed that Trump is enormously popular on Weibo. Trump-related topics trended on Weibo over twice as often as any other public figure in 2020, and he is the only foreigner to appear on Weibo’s annual list of the most popular people – a list usually dominated by Chinese entertainers.

ABBOTTABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry Saturday said Bilawal and Maryam both were in fact busy with their “Abbu Bachao” (save father) campaigns knowing nothing about the relationship of Pakistanis and Kashmiris as was evident from their speeches.
Addressing party workers here, he reminded the AJK people that it was Maryam Safdar that at her daughter’s marriage ceremony Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the special guest.
Likewise, he said, Bilawal did not know that Pakistan had fought three wars with India on the Kashmir dispute. He said both Bilawal and Maryam knew nothing as to how to run the national economy, as they had practically done nothing to earn even a single rupee.

ABBOTTABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Saturday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would win the AJK Legislative Assembly elections and people would reject the looters of the national wealth.
“Like Gilgit-Baltistan, we will also win the AJK elections as both the political novices - Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Maryam Safdar- had campaigned for their respective party candidates in the GB,” he told a gathering here.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) could not find candidates in many constituencies in AJK, Fawad Chaudhry went on to claim.
“Both the parties, in fact, have no political culture as they are being run by two royal families,” he said, adding, the Maharani and the Maharaja had no respect for their party leaders and even treated their parties’ former prime ministers like slaves.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which had already broken “political idols” in Pakistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, would now win the AJK Legislative Assembly elections too.
Addressing party workers here, he said both the political “novices”, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Maryam Safdar, had campaigned for their respective party candidates in the G-B. However, he added that they got frustrated when they realised that their parties had failed to field candidates for many G-B Legislative Assembly seats.
“They were facing the same situation in AJK like G-B where the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) could not find candidates in many constituencies,” he added.
