New Delhi, May 19 : In a massive action, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said on Wednesday that it has registered a case against U.S. Awasthi, MD and CEO of IFFCO, Pravinder Singh Gahlaut, MD of Indian Potash Ltd (IPL), and several others in connection with a corruption case.
The CBI also carried out searches at 12 locations across the country and recovered cash to the tune of Rs 8.8 lakh, FDR worth Rs 5.5 crore, details of 19 properties in several states and 14 bank account details.

Cattle feed business contributes about 30 per cent per cent of the total business of IFFCO Kisan A new entrant into fodder business, IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Ltd, a subsidiary of India’s largest fertiliser company in co-operative sector IFFCO, sold 1 lakh tonnes of cattle feed valued at ₹160 crore during fiscal 2020-21 in its first full year of its operations, a statement said on Tuesday.
IFFCO Kisan Sanchar entered the compound cattle feed business on a pilot basis during financial year 2019-20. Now, cattle feed business contributes about 30 per cent per cent of the total business of IFFCO Kisan and is a major focus of growth for the company, the statement said.
Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) on Thursday said its fourth oxygen plant being set up at Paradeep (Odisha) will commence operation by June 15 and will provide the free supply to hospitals in the state and adjoining areas.
The proposed oxygen plant in Paradeep will generate medical-grade oxygen and fill 520 big D-type cylinders daily and 200 medium B-size cylinders on demand supplied to all hospitals free from June 15.
IFFCO is setting up a total of four oxygen plants in India at the cost of about Rs 30 crore. About 610 cubic meters per hour of oxygen will be produced from these four plants. Two plants being set up in Uttar Pradesh and one plant in Gujarat will commence by May 30.

New Delhi [India], April 19 (ANI): Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has written to the Chief Secretaries of all states asking them to take measures to prohibit the supply of oxygen for industrial purposes, except the specified exempted industries.
The letter, written on Sunday, has come at a time when India is in grip of the second wave of COVID-19 and hospitals across the country are running thin on the oxygen supply required to treat patients. Keeping in view the rapid surge in cases especially in high-burden states, the empowered group has recommended prohibiting the supply of oxygen for industrial purposes with the exception of nine specified industries from April 22 and the union government has accepted the decision, Bhalla said in his letter.
