Problems among neighbours should be resolved through discussions: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said the existing problems among neighbouring countries need to be resolved through discussions.
“There might be problems among neighbouring countries. The problems should be resolved through negotiations and discussions,” she told visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar when he met her at her official residence Ganobhaban.
PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.
During the meeting, the Indian Minister praised Sheikh Hasina’s leadership for the graduation of Bangladesh from the LDC group.
“It’s a great achievement. The development of Bangladesh is miraculous…,” Jaishankar was quoted as saying.

Bangladesh and India are looking forward to stronger connectivity between the two countries and with South Asia and beyond in the next 20 years.
As the two neighbouring countries celebrate their 50th year of diplomatic relations, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, Connectivity is productivity.
Emerging out of a meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen at the state guesthouse Padma yesterday, he said, If we can get connectivity right between India and Bangladesh, I can tell you the entire geo-economy of the region will change. The Bay of Bengal will look very different.

In a major breakthrough, India on Thursday said it has picked “connectivity” with Bangladesh as a big goal for the years to come that might change the entire logistics and whole geo-economics of the region giving the Bay of Bengal a very different look. Connectivity between the two countries can change the face of the region. Connectivity is productivity, said Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar adding that India is keen to take as its major focus the India-Bangladesh connectivity issue for next 20 years to change the region’s geo-economic scenario.
