Indiana Dunes hiring youth workers for the summer By: Maura Johnson
Indiana Dunes National Park has jobs open for four teenagers this summer.
The jobs are part of The Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program, a work-learn-earn program for 15-18-year-olds that runs from June 6 to August 2021. Applicants should expect to work the entire length of the program.
Participants are paid $7.25 an hour for the 40-hour work week.
Youth jobs include working as part of a crew to do different manual labor tasks, usually outdoors. Crews do tasks like caulking, staining, and painting the exterior of park buildings and work in grounds maintenance, like mowing, cleaning restrooms, trail rehabilitation, and picking up trash.
