Gypsy moths are one of North America s most devastating invasive forest pests and has caused thousands of acres of defoliation across the eastern United States, a news release said. Treatments will begin shortly after sunrise but could be delayed until later in the morning or to the next day in the case of fog or rain. Treatment should take about an hour, and a second treatment will occur four to 10 days later.

At 8:41 a.m., police were called to the area of Spy Run Avenue and Lafayette Street, where they were told of a possible body floating in the river, a statement from police said. Police used a drone as part of the search, the statement said. The drone found the body of an adult male on the south side of the river tangled in the underbrush. The identity of the victim and the cause of death will be determined by the Allen County coroner s office after an autopsy, police said.

Muncie s Riverside Trail still moving ahead, construction this summer

The West Riverside Avenue trail is still coming after a slight delay, while the City of Muncie and concerned residents work together to adjust the trail plan to accommodate concerns from those who live along the route. The trail will run mostly along the south side of Riverside Avenue from Jackson Street to Christy Woods, and along a stretch of Jackson from the Morrison Road roundabout to Riverside.
