Eric Doden, a Valparaiso University Law School graduate and former president of the Indiana Economic Development Corp., announced Thursday he s running for the Republican nomination for Indiana governor in the May 2024 primary election. Some in the political class might say it is far too early to launch a campaign for governor, Doden said. I am committed to earning the trust of Hoosiers and will use this time to embark on a listening tour across all 92 counties.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A Fort Wayne businessman who was a top official in former Gov. Mike Pence’s administration is getting an early jump on running for governor in the 2024 election.
Eric Doden announced Thursday he was forming a committee for a Republican campaign for governor. Doden said in a statement that he was using the early campaign start to embark on what he called a “listening tour” across all 92 Indiana counties.
Several top Republicans have been mentioned as possible candidates to replace GOP Gov. Eric Holcomb, who can’t seek re-election again because of term limits.

GREENWOOD, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Wisconsin-based Milwaukee Tool will Thursday cut the ribbon on its $7 million service hub in Greenwood. The company announced plans in September to build the 150,000-square-foot facility and create more than 450 jobs by the end of 2025.
The facility was build to house tool repair services and warehousing space. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the company has already hired 120 employees toward its ultimate goal.
Governor Eric Holcomb and Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers will join Milwaukee Tool executives for the ribbon cutting and grand opening, which is scheduled for 10 a.m.

Gov. Eric Holcomb on Monday announced the launch of the Indiana Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative, which will dedicate $500 million toward investments that officials hope will make the state a magnet for talent and economic growth.
The governor announced the concept of READI in his January State of the State address, and the Indiana General Assembly funded the program as a part of its new biennial budget.
READI is expected to attract at least $2 billion of local public, private and philanthropic match funding for investment in Indiana s quality of place, quality of life and quality of opportunity, according to a news release said.
