Blueprint of the mosque and hospital in Ayodhya | Photo Credit: ANI Key Highlights The construction of the project will begin from August 15 next year New Delhi: Ayodhya: The first pictures of a futuristic mosque to be built in Uttar Pradesh s Ayodhya were released by the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF). The mega project will also have a hospital, a library and a community kitchen with cutting edge designs. The mosque will be built on a five-acre land in Dhannipur village allocated by the Supreme Court in the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case. The Sunni Waqf Board in Uttar Pradesh had formed the IICF trust to construct the mosque and other utilities on the plot.

Photo: By arrangement Ayodhya: The Ayodhya mosque, to be built on five acres of land as mandated by the Supreme Court, will have a “cosmic” design resembling the spherical earth cushioned in space. Most importantly, it will not have the stereotypical domes, minarets or arches, which marked Islamic structures in India, said architect Professor S.M. Akhtar, who along with other members of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) unveiled the mosque complex’s blueprint on Saturday.

The first phase of the project, for which the foundation stone is likely to be placed early next year, will have a hospital along with the mosque. The trust plans to expand the hospital in the second phase, it said.
