Ross Township police investigating report of dog abuse

Updated: 1:51 PM EDT May 28, 2021 Ross Township police are releasing surveillance video and asking for help to identify a man who they say was seen beating a dog outside a hotel.See the video: Click the video player above to watch.The incident at the InTown Suites parking lot on McKnight Road was reported shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday, Detective Brian Kohlhepp said.In the video, the man can be seen choking and punching a small white dog and slamming the animal against a vehicle, police said. Later in the video he engages with people who were inside the hotel, police said in a statement. These individuals, not seen on the video, were in a room and yelling out the window objecting to these acts of animal cruelty. The actor can be seen throwing bottles and other items at them. Police said the man left the area in a black GMC Yukon, along with a woman, another man and the dog. Jerel Jay Wilson, a 29-year-old Union City, Georgia man, has been slapped with 20 years in prison after setting fire to the car and home of a woman who rejected his unwanted advances. Recently, a Cobb County jury found Wilson guilty of simple battery and first- and second-degree arson in the attacks, which began Sept. 11, 2018. Prosecutors say On September 11, 2018, Wilson broke into the woman’s apartment, stole her television then set fire to her bedroom, destroying her entire apartment. Weeks later, the woman accidentally dialed Wilson as she was driving a friend to the InTown Suites on Highlands Parkway. Subsequently, Wilson tracked her down and attacked her, then set her car on fire.

Man faces prison for burning home, car of woman who rejected him By FOX 5 Atlanta Digital Team Published  (Photo: Cobb County District Attorney s Office) SMYRNA, Ga. - A Union City man faces 20 years in prison and 10 years probation after he was found guilty of setting fire to a woman s bedroom and car in a jealous rage. A spokesperson for the Cobb District Attorney s Office said 29-year-old Jerel Jay Wilson committed arson in 2018 incidents separated by a few weeks. Prosecutors said Wilson first broke into a woman s home after he d been texting her about her new boyfriend and set fire to her bedroom. Several weeks later, prosecutors said Wilson attacked the woman in a hotel parking lot and set her car on fire when he found out she was driving a man to a Smyrna hotel.
