Hotly tipped artists donât always live up to their own hype, but Arlo Parksâ debut album,
Collapsed In Sunbeams, which was released last week to near-perfect reviews, proves the 20-year-old is more than worthy of the buzz sheâs attracted over the past few years.
Since releasing her first single in 2018, having been discovered after submitting songs to BBC Music Introducing while she was still at sixth-form college, the South West Londoner has gathered a dedicated fan base including the likes of Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers and Florence Welch, as well as the title of âvoice of her generationâ.

“The song surrounds isolation, being present in your pain and knowing that you’re not the only one on the planet feeling low,” Parks explained about ‘Hope’. “I think especially in times like these it’s important to focus on the inevitability that things will get better.”

Arlo Parks will arrive imminently. Premiering globally on Friday 29th January, the same day as Parks’ debut album release, viewable at 3pm EST on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and the Amazon Music app, before being made available on Monday 1st February via Prime Video.

Arlo Parks has landed an Amazon Music special to coincide with the release of her debut album.
The 20-year-old British star will perform her popular singles, ‘Eugene’, ‘Black Dog’, ‘Hurt’, ‘Caroline’ and ‘Cola’, and give her debut performance of songs from her hotly-anticipated LP, ‘Collapsed In Sunbeams , during Tonight With Arlo Parks on January 29.
The hour-long Variety Hour Special will air from 8pm GMT on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and the Amazon Music app, before heading to Prime Video on February 1.
The film has been created with Amazon Music s artist development program, Breakthrough, and will also feature conversations, poetry readings and collaborations, all existing in a plethora of evocative and gradually unravelling environments.
