Jhansi: As per the WHO survey data of Jhansi district released by the administration on Sunday, men are twice susceptible of coronavirus infection in the district.
Out of total 10,867 Covid-19 positive cases detected, 68% cases (7,405) are men while 32% cases (3462) are of women. Of these, maximum cases have been reported in age group of 21-30 years, 24% of the entire lot.
On the other hand, of 174 deceased so far maximum are from the age group of 51-70 years. So far only 2% have been tested positive of 698,454 persons tested so far.
As per the reports, 74.4% of total 11,795 registered health workers have and 60.5 % of the total 14,698 registered frontline workers have received both the jabs of the vaccine while only 2.8 % of total 34,116 citizens registered have received both the doses of the vaccine.
Police personnel try to control the situation after villagers blocked the highway
KANPUR: A rape survivor’s father was crushed to death by a speeding truck on Kanpur-Sagar highway, just metres away from Ghatampur community health centre, where his 13-year-old daughter was undergoing medical examination for sexual assault early Wednesday.
It all happened in front of policemen escorting the man and his daughter, who was allegedly gang-raped by two youths, including a policeman s son late Monday.
After the man lay sprawled in blood on the highway, police swiftly took him to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, Kanpur, where doctors declared him dead.

KANPUR: The wife of a corporator and their two minor children were set ablaze allegedly by husband of a lady constable on late Sunday night.
The husband of the lady constable resides as a tenant in the corporator s house in Nehru Nagar under the limits of Akbarpur Kotwali police station in Kanpur Dehat district.
According to police, the two children of the corporator, however, succumbed to wounds, while his wife and injured husband of a lady constable are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kanpur.
Police said that the incident took place while Archana (32) wife of a corporator Jitendra Yadav was cooking food. Her two children including daughter Akshita (4) and son Hanu (17 months) were sitting with her, while her husband Jitendra was present inside his bedroom.
