LAHORE:Inspector General Police Punjab (IGP) Inam Ghani has said no organisation, group or its activists deserve any concession for taking law into their hands or damaging the property of citizens under the guise of protest and a strict legal action would be taken against such miscreants irrespective of their status.
The IGP gave these instructions while giving instructions to all RPOs and DPOs of the province during the RPOs video link conference held at the Central Police Office here on Monday. DIG Operations Sohail Akhtar Sukhera and other officers were also present in the meeting. During the meeting, the police strategy for preventing any kind of violent gathering or protests in the province was discussed in detail.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday directed the Inspector General Police Punjab to utilise all resources to protect the lives and property of citizens.
Chairing a meeting on reforms and performance of Punjab Police on Friday in Lahore, the Prime Minister stressed the use of modern technology to control crimes. Khan emphasised on resolving the problems of citizens on priority and taking strict action against officials creating hurdles in the way to justice.
He regretted those political appointments were made in police during previous tenures, which impacted the performance of the department. LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Cooperatives Raja Basharat on Sunday said people should witness sympathy of PDM’s leaders for the nation, who left their poor workers astray on roads and they themselves were taking lavish breakfasts in five star hotels.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said the PDM political leadership was enjoying traditional Lahori dishes in the house of Ayaz Sadiq while at the same time their workers were fighting cold and disease at the Greater Iqbal Park.
He said Nawaz Sharif had put his children outside and put children of the poor at risk.
