Cook: The Club Will Be a Very Different Place Come August
Friday, 16th Apr 2021 10:53
Boss Paul Cook says the challenge of turning things around at Portman Road was why he took the job and has been disappointed with himself that the Blues’ play-off push has faltered.
“It s the reason why I came to the club,” he said when asked how excited he is by the prospect of turning Town around.
“When I came to the club, I was very confident that I would lead the team into the play-offs. To say I m disappointed in that myself is an understatement.
“I think I should be getting more out of these players. That disappoints me that I m not. I ve lain awake for the last two or three nights, I am a fighter and I am someone that doesn t settle for second best or mediocrity.
But let me be clear, I am still not very flexible. I am what my mum calls ‘big boned’ and my attempts at the classic yoga positions – downward-facing dog, warrior, or the tree pose – will not win any prizes.
But compared to where I was, I feel fitter and happier, and I know that as I move away from high-impact sports like mountain-biking and football (although I keep my hand in, or should that be foot?) I will always do yoga.
Where are the men?
As I have attended different yoga classes over the years, one question has nagged away at me – why don’t more men do yoga? Usually, there are one or two men, but classes are typically dominated by women. It’s not a problem, we give each other a nod of recognition and get down to our practice. But I’m convinced there are many more men who would benefit from the stretches and relaxation that yoga offers.
Fingers crossed he’s able to have some influence prior to that start date and start having the necessary conversations with PC etc so he can hit the ground running when he starts. I’m sure PC has got some ideas on who he’d like to bring in so fingers crossed we can start those balls rolling fairly soon.

My, he’s so dashingly handsome. Have we ever had such an attractive CEO before.? I bet he’s a bastard in the bedsheets, though.

Cook: Very, Very Exciting Times Ahead Under Fantastic New Owners
Monday, 12th Apr 2021 10:28
Boss Paul Cook admits that the Blues’ takeover came as a surprise to him last week but believes there are “very, very exciting times” ahead for Town under “fantastic new owners”.
Asked about the takeover which saw Marcus Evans, who appointed Cook only just over a month ago, step aside and the US pension fund-backed Gamechanger 20 group take charge, Cook said: “Listen, first of all, I’d like to wish Marcus every success in his future, whatever he decides to go into.
“I only spent a short time knowing Marcus and I believe he did a great job. I think he had so much commitment to Ipswich Town Football Club, something that I know a lot of our fans probably didn’t agree with, but I’ve seen sides of him and also the money that he’d invested in the club previously.
