Why Reece Gregory Clark had the illegal weapon he did not say. Clark appeared from jail via video-link before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday to be sentenced on 11 charges. Reece Gregory Clark, 28, from Brassall, pleaded guilty to charges that include being in possession of a weapon (category H) on September 24 last year; possession of drug utensils (syringe, grinders and scales); four counts of being in possession of dangerous drugs; not having authority to be in possession of explosives (ammunition); and obstructing police on August 6.

Christmas Day stabbing murder case in court

Premium Content Subscriber only A MAN accused of killing his girlfriend’s father at a family celebration on Christmas Day last year has not applied for bail. The case of Garth Michael Reid received a brief mention in a callover of serious cases before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Reid, 33, from Woodgate, is charged with the stabbing murder of Warren Toby, 53, on December 25 last year. The charge arises after police were called to a house in Hall St, North Ipswich soon after 11.30pm on Christmas Day. Mr Toby is alleged to have died in the front yard from his injuries.

Premium Content Subscriber only A WOMAN reversed into a police vehicle then gunned her car forward and drove it through a fence to get away from the officers who wanted to speak to her boyfriend. The boyfriend took over driving and led police on a pursuit from Rosewood that ended at Walloon when the engine of the damaged Holden Commodore overheated and seized. Details of the incident were given when Jessica Grey appeared for sentence in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Jessica Grey, 28, from Spring Mountain, pleaded guilty to drink driving (0.076) at Bellbird Park on June 12, 2020; and to five offences that were committed at Rosewood or Walloon on July 18 – doing wilful damage to a fence; dangerous operation of a motor vehicle in Albert St; failing to comply with duties of a driver involved in a crash; doing wilful damage to police property; and possession of a knife at Walloon.
