government on Wednesday decided to impose curfew in the state till May 16 from Thursday midnight.
All government and private offices and establishments will remain closed. However, essential services like health, electricity, telecommunication, water supply, sanitation, etc., would be open. These decisions, among others, were taken by the

Educational institutions will be closed till May 31. However, government and private transport would ply with 50 per cent of occupancy and inter-state transport would continue. Industrial establishments would work as per the guidelines issued by the state government.
The Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday decided to impose a lockdown in the state from May 7 to May 16 to check the spread of COVID-19, an official said here. The decision to impose the corona curfew in the state was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, the spokesperson added. While government and private offices and establishments will remain closed during the lockdown period, essential services such as those related to health, electricity, telecommunication, water supply and sanitation will be exempted, the official said. The cabinet decided that work would continue at civil work sites and horticultural, agricultural and other projects, while educational institutions would remain closed till May 31, he said.

Amid a sharp surge in the number of COVID-19 cases, the Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday imposed ‘corona curfew’ from May 7 to 16.
The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in Shimla. Reviewing the situation, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the sharp surge in the number of COVID-19 cases. “To break the virus chain, the Cabinet decided to impose ‘corona curfew’ in the State. All government and private offices will remain closed from May 7 to 16,” said an official statement.

Keeping in view the sharp surge in Covid-19 cases in Himachal Pradesh over the past few days, the annual examination of Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education Class X has been cancelled. A decision to this effect was taken at a Cabinet meeting held in Shimla on Wednesday.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
All students would be promoted to Class XI by the Board as per the norms suggested by CBSE for its students of Class X last week.
The Class XII examination of Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education and annual examination of colleges will also remain suspended till further orders.
