Report sought on confiscation of assets of Shehbaz s daughter - Newspaper

LAHORE: A duty judge of an accountability court on Saturday sought a progress report from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) about confiscation of assets owned by Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif’s daughter Rabia and son-in-law Imran Ali Yousaf as they had been declared absconders in the Punjab Saaf Pani Company’s reference. The judge adjourned further hearing till Aug 21 and also directed the bureau to ensure arrest of the absconders. The other suspects in the reference including former Saaf Pani Company chairman Raja Qamarul Islam, also a former MPA of PML-N, and former chief executive officer Waseem Ajmal also appeared before the court.

Daily Mail seeks more time to submit evidence in Shahbaz Sharif defamation case By Saturday May 08, 2021 LONDON: The lawyers for Mail on Sunday and reporter David Rose have approached the London High Court seeking more time to file a defence in the defamation case brought against them by former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif and Imran Ali Yousaf, his son-in-law. Court sources have confirmed that lawyers for the Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), publishers of Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, sought four more months to gather evidence from Pakistan. Justice Sir Matthew Nicklin at the London High Court had set a timetable in the first week of February 2021 asking the paper to submit the evidence by the end of April 2021. Last week, the lawyers for the paper made an application to the court seeking two more months.

Reference against Shahbaz s son-in-law, daughter adjourned

Lahore April 25, 2021 LAHORE : An accountability court on Saturday adjourned the hearing of a reference against Shahbaz Sharif’s son-in-law Ali Imran Yousaf and daughter Rabia Imran till May 21. Previously, the court had sought the details of the properties of both accused after declaring them as proclaimed offenders in Saaf Pani Company reference. The case has been adjourned without any development due to unavailability of the trial judge. The NAB had filed a supplementary reference against Waseem Ajmal, former CEO, Punjab, Saaf Pani Company, South, Imran Ali Yousaf, CEO M/s Ali, and Fatima Developers, on acquiring an under-construction building (Ali Trade Centre) on rent by abusing authority, which caused a loss of Rs24.7m to the national exchequer. However, Ali Imran didn’t join the investigation nor appeared before the court.

National March 8, 2021 LAHORE: An Accountability Court on Saturday declared Ali Imran Yousaf, son-in-law of Shahbaz Sharif, and daughter Rabia Imran as proclaimed offenders in Saaf Pani Company reference. In January the court had started proceedings to declare Ali Imran Yousaf and his wife Rabia Imran proclaimed offenders. The court, after declaring said accused as proclaimed offenders, has sought detail of properties of the accused from the prosecution. The NAB had filed a supplementary reference against Waseem Ajmal, former CEO, Punjab, Saaf Pani Company, South, Imran Ali Yousaf, CEO M/s Ali, and Fatima Developers, on acquiring an under-construction building (Ali Trade Centre) on rent by abusing authority, which caused a loss of Rs24.7m to the national exchequer. Top Story March 7, 2021 LAHORE: An accountability court on Saturday declared Imran Ali Yousaf and Rabia Imran, son-in-law and daughter of opposition leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif, as absconders over their continuous non-appearance in the Saaf Pani graft case. Accountability Court Judge Amjad Nazir Chaudhry conducted the case proceedings. A report was filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over the continuous absence of Imran Ali Yousaf and Rabia Imran in the case. The bureau had stated that the process under Section 87 of the CrPC for declaring the suspects as absconders had been completed, as the couple had failed to attend the proceedings despite a final opportunity being given to them.
