After rate cap, private labs temporarily halt RT-PCR testing in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 3: With the Government setting the prices for the RT-PCR test for private testing labs in J&K, several labs operating in Kashmir have temporarily stopped the testing which has resulted in hassles to people.
The UT Administration earlier issued an order capping the price of the RT-PCR test at Rs 400. However, the testing labs have expressed their unwillingness to carry out the test stating that the prices are too low for them.
Excelsior called up many collection centres of various labs in Kashmir about the RT-PRC tests; however, they informed that they have temporarily discontinued carrying out the test for now.
