Punjab Health Minister Dr Yamsin Rashid has said on Monday Punjab would start vaccinating people for coronavirus in the next two days.
Speaking at a Press Conference at the Directorate General Health Services on Monday, the health minister said people must follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to save themselves from the pandemic.
In the last 24 hours, as many as 443 people tested positive and 11 people lost their lives.
The positivity ratio in Lahore was 3.95%, 1.9% in Rawalpindi, 3.39% in Faisalabad and in the last 24 hours, 15,000 Covid-19 tests were conducted.
Gift from India: 20 lakh vaccine doses arrive today

India s gift of 20 lakh doses of Covishield is likely to arrive in Bangladesh today.
Besides, the first shipment of the doses bought by Bangladesh is scheduled to arrive on January 25, Health Secretary Abdul Mannan told a press conference at the Prime Minister s Office yesterday.

Bangladesh purchased three crore doses of Covishield, the coronavirus vaccine developed by the University of Oxford and drugmaker AstraZeneca and manufactured by Serum Institute of India.
A difficult year

The spread of the deadly coronavirus has created a wave of fear in the country. The death toll is increasing at a fast pace. Besides this, the country is also facing the problem of a surge in dengue cases. A report by the Vector Borne Diseases Department of Directorate General Health Services, Sindh says that at least 573 dengue cases were reported between December 1 and December 27 in the province. Out of these cases, 542 were recorded in Karachi. The current figure shows a dangerous rise in the number of dengue cases.
There is no doubt that it is essential to take all the steps to contain the spread of the virus, however, it is also vital to focus on fighting against other fatal and lethal diseases in the country.
The cases were reported by the Vector Borne Diseases Department of Directorate General Health Services, Sindh.
In Karachi, district East was on top with 169 dengue cases this month so far followed by district South, Central, Korangi, West and Malir.
Dengue fever has claimed two lives in Karachi till date.
