SRINAGAR: To take first hand appraisal of the infrastructure and patient care management in Covid care Hospitals, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today visited Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Chest Disease & TB Hospital Jammu, and Government Medical College Jammu.
During his visits, the Lt Governor enquired about number of patients being treated in the hospitals, patients discharged after recovery, availability of oxygen support beds.
The Lt Governor, while inspecting the functionality of Oxygen Generation Plants in the Hospitals, directed for effective rationalization of available resources to cater to the requirements of the patients.

Private sector roped in to ensure supply of oxygen in government hospitals
Taking a serious note of the deaths of four COVID patients, within a span of just two hours, allegedly due to shortage of oxygen in the private hospital, the Jammu and Kashmir Government constituted an inquiry committee headed by Divisional Commissioner Jammu. Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education J&K has appointed Divisional Commissioner Jammu as Inquiry Officer to enquire into the circumstances leading to an incident that occurred at Acharaya Shri Chander Colleges of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Jammu on 01.05 2021, wherein some death have been reported allegedly due to shortage of Oxygen , the order reads.

Jammu: With an aim to tackle the recent upsurge of Covid 19, Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today impressed upon the officers for effective implementation of the 5-pronged strategy in J&K which includes testing, containment, isolation & treatment, Covid appropriate behaviour and vaccination.
He made these remarks during a review meeting at Civil Secretariat here to analyse district wise Covid-19 scenario and the implementation of 5-pronged strategy to tackle the upsurge.
The FC directed the concerned officers to expedite the testing and vaccination drive, study the increase of the test positivity rate and take remedial measures accordingly.
