The Nigerian Army said Wednesday that its operatives have apprehended one of the most wanted leaders of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), identified as Awurum Eze, in the commercial town of Aba in Abia State.
The Army also said that Eze allegedly masterminded the recent killings of security operatives in Imo State.
According to a statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, Eze is the second in command to the late Ikonso, an ESN Commander who was killed by a joint team of security operatives in Owerri recently.
Yerima revealed that Eze is one of those IPOB fighters who have direct contact with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kalu.
