The government will provide Rs 1 lakh crore additional income to farmers that will be generated by converting waste into energy, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
He said the heap of waste at Ghazipur will also be cleaned soon to create energy. We have started the Gobar Dhan scheme. Cow dung, agriculture waste, city waste, forest waste, the carbon in biomass, everything will be converted into energy. In a few days, the heap of waste at Ghazipur will be cleaned up. The energy that we will make from that we are going to give additional income of Rs 1 lakh crore in the accounts of farmers. Income of farmers will double from that

“We have started the Gobar Dhan scheme. Cow dung, agriculture waste, city waste, forest waste, the carbon in biomass, everything will be converted into energy. In a few days, the heap of waste at Ghazipur will be cleaned up. The energy that we will make from that we are going to give additional income of Rs 1 lakh crore in the accounts of farmers. Income of farmers will double from that,” Pradhan said while speaking during a discussion on Motion of Thanks to the President’s address.

New Delhi: The Jal Shakti Ministry on Wednesday launched a unified portal on the Gobardhan scheme, an initiative aimed at managing cattle and biodegradable waste and also help enhance farmers income. The Gobardhan scheme is being pursued as a priority programme under the Swachch Bharat Mission Grameen-Phase 2.
The scheme aims to support villages in effectively manage their cattle and biodegradable waste. The Jal Shakti Ministry is implementing the Swacch Bharat Mission.

Act on preservation of ancient monuments violated, structures damaged around Lingaraj temple
The controversy over the destruction of ancient monuments around the 11th century Lingaraj Temple in Odisha’s capital Bhubaneshwar amid a State-sponsored redevelopment drive, spiralled with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) stating that irreparable damage had been done to the temple and ancient shrines around it.
Naveen proposes economic corridor
New Delhi: In order to provide a fillip to the economic development of the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Tuesday proposed a 300 km eight-lane integrated economic corridor from Paradip to Barbil in a meeting with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
He also assured that the state government will extend all support to the project.
The Chief Minister took up several important infrastructure projects with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in a review meeting via virtual mode.
The meeting was also attended by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with Union Minister of State for Road, Transport and Highways General (Retd) VK Singh and Minister of State for MSME Pratap Chandra Sarangi.
