The Salvation Army is holding a 2 million pound food drive in the Twin Cities.
(FOX 9) - The Twin Cities Salvation Army announced it is holding a two million pound food drive from March 1-26 in an effort to aid families still struggling from the economic impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a release from the organization, the goal of collecting 2 million pounds of non-perishable food would represent the largest single food drive ever held in the Twin Cities.
More than 750,000 Minnesotans have experienced job furloughs or layoffs since the start of the pandemic, and the state s food shelves have seen a record 3.83 million visits. The Salvation Army also reports 40% of people visiting their food pantries last year had never visited one before.

VICTORIA, Texas–After a delay due to weather, the Salvation Army of Victoria Family Store has reopened.
The store was closed almost a year ago due to the pandemic. Salvation Army of Victoria commanding officer Captain Kenny Jones tells us sales were very good on their reopening day, $2700 worth in one day. He said the store was averaging about $450-$500 a day before it was remodeled, and things have been going very well all this week. Captain Kenny tells us he hopes donations to the store can go up. He said they went for so long not picking up donations that it’ll take some time to get inventory back. The Salvation Army Family Store now really needs donations of furniture and housewares. The Salvation Army Of Victoria Family Store is at 4303 North Navarro.

We are amazed by how God moved during KCBI’s Day of 5,000 Bibles! So many of you came to get Bibles to share with your co-workers, at crisis pregnancy centers, in prisons and even at the Dallas Convention Center, where some teenaged boys will be given God’s Word in their language.
Bibles are all on their way to their new homes and owners. Pray with us that God will work powerfully through His Word. And thanks to the Salvation Army DFW Command and Buckner International, Hope Shines Here for your partnership!
