The Karnataka government on Wednesday announced setting up an expert panel to frame guidelines for primary and secondary education for the year 2021-22. The committee will oversee the assessment models, online education, offline education, teacher training methodology, pragmatic utilisation of budgetary resources, and many other related issues, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar said in a statement.

The foundation stone laying ceremony for a public library in Rajiv Nagar has been put off due to COVID-19.
A library set up by 62-year-old Syed Ishaq in Rajiv Nagar was destroyed in a fire earlier this month and the government had planned to start construction of a full-fledged library at the same spot on World Book Day on April 23.
The postponement of the function was following a decision taken by the State against holding any foundation stone laying ceremony or inaugural function, which attract a large number of people, for at least the next two months. An announcement in the regard had been made by Minister for Revenue R. Ashok.

The government of Karnataka has announced the evaluation process for the students of classes 1 to 9 for the current academic year, without the conduction of examinations, in view of the current surge of Covid-19 cases in the state.
In a series of tweets, he also urged people above 60 years of age and those with comorbidities to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible.

As per department sources, with exams ending in June and the next academic year beginning at the start of July, there would be a trimming of summer holidays.

BENGALURU: Karnataka Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Suresh Kumar on Tuesday announced that the summer holidays will be curtailed in schools this year.
He was talking during his visit to the Karnataka-Maharashtra border districts.
To make up for the lost time and prevent the compounding of delay in the next academic year, the department of education has been working out a scheme to reduce the number of holidays.
