Students call for in-school vaccinations

The Secondary Students Union of Northern Ireland said Years 11-14 should be targeted 27 July, 2021 01:00 YOUNG people are proposing in-school vaccinations to help prevent their education being disrupted for a third year. The Secondary Students Union of Northern Ireland (SSUNI) said Years 11-14 should be targeted. The call from the union, which represents more than 35,000 pupils in Northern Ireland, comes ahead of what it fears will be another school year disrupted by the pandemic. Exam students have faced repeated periods of self-isolation, with some, the union claimed, isolating up to eight times in a given year. Mass vaccination, it said, would reduce in-school Covid cases, and therefore the numbers having to isolate.
