This is a no-brainer. Let’s keep this simple: Trevor Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect I’ve ever scouted and has been projected as the top pick in the 2021 draft since he stepped on campus at Clemson. All he’s done in the meantime is lead the Tigers to the College Football Playoff three times, reaching two national title games and winning one. He’s built for this, at 6-foot-6, 220 pounds, with a cannon for an arm, good mobility and accuracy. The Jacksonville Jaguars badly need to turn the page under center and Urban Meyer s NFL experiment gets a huge jump start with Lawrence at quarterback.

The Pac-12 announced their seven-game, conference-only schedule for the 2021 women’s gymnastics season, set to begin Jan. 22. Due to the regional stay-at-home directive by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department, the Cardinal’s first dual meet against UCLA was canceled, shortening its season to six conference-only matchups.
No. 31 Stanford women’s gymnastics will kick off their campaign against No. 6 Utah in their home opener on Feb. 15. Then, the Cardinal will head to Tempe, Arizona, to face No. 15 Arizona State on Feb. 20. Stanford will be back at home for their next two dual meets against Arizona and California on Feb. 25 and Mar. 3, respectively.
CLEMSON, S.C. Major League Soccer announced earlier today that Clemson midfielder Philip Mayaka has signed a Generation adidas contract. A native of Nairobi, Kenya, Mayaka is now eligible for selection in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, which is set to take place virtually on Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. This is the seventh time in program history and second consecutive year that Clemson has had a member of its program sign a Generation adidas contract.
Today’s announcement signals the end of Mayaka’s collegiate eligibility and means he will join his new club after being selected in the upcoming draft.
During his time at Clemson, Mayaka was named a 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, second-team All-American, first-team All-South Region, first-team All-ACC, ACC Freshman of the Year, and was a member of the ACC’s All-Freshman team. Before the 2020 season, Mayaka earned preseason All-American honors from College Soccer News.
Barmore, a redshirt sophomore, earned Defensive MVP of the 2020 CFP National Championship Game with five tackles, two tackles for a loss and a sack against Ohio State, including a tackle for loss on a crucial fourth down to seal the game for the Crimson Tide.
