Taipei, Dec. 29 (CNA) Both China Airlines (CAL) and EVA Airways announced Tuesday that they will suspend all their passenger and cargo flights between Taoyuan and London in January in the wake of a surge in cases caused by a new, highly infectious variant of COVID-19 found in the United Kingdom.
Any resumption of flights will depend on how the pandemic unfolds, the two airlines said.
Taiwan s two largest airlines, CAL and EVA were reduced to operating one round-trip passenger flight between the two destinations per week after the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced last week that they were halving their weekly services.
