UK MP calls for banning Iran s IRGC after flag flown at London demo

A British MP who also serves as the Conservative Party s chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee has called on the government to follow the US in designating Iran s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation.
MP for Tonbridge and Malling, Tom Tugendhat, reportedly made the comments, after footage surfaced on social media of an IRGC banner at a Palestine solidarity march that took place in London last weekend, along with a flag of Palestine and Iraq s Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), which includes some armed factions supported by the IRGC.
Baghdad effectively enforced the rule of law by detaining a senior militia figure, though it still needs to arrest other murder suspects and show the public that October’s election will be safe.
US-led coalition investigates latest rocket attack on western Iraqi military base
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The US-led Coalition to Defeat ISIS announced on Monday that it was carrying out an investigation into the latest rocket attack, which took place earlier that day, targeting Ain al-Asad airbase in western Iraq s Anbar province. At 1335 local time, Ain Al-Asad Air Base (AAAB) was attacked by one rocket round. No injuries reported. Damage is being assessed, wrote Coalition Spokesperson Col. Wayne Marotto in a tweet.

The Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) in northern Iraq yesterday denied reports that it had particated in the assassination of the former Iranian Quds Force Commander, Qasem Soleimani.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The top British envoy in Iraq on Monday condemned continued rockets attacks in Iraq largely blamed on Iranian-backed militias, appealing to Iraqis directly by making a case for the longreaching negative effects of such incidents.
At least two rockets landed in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport, one of them reportedly intercepted by the military and dropping near the facility and the other causing no casualties when it struck.
