Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors a name that has been in the news and on social media lately, Army Veteran Eugene Goodman. Eugene served in the Army for 4 years with 2 deployments to Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division. Last week, when violence moved on the Capitol, Eugene served his country again and became a hero once more while doing it. In the video that has gone viral, Eugene can be seen at first attempting to hold back the violent crowd. He reached for his firearm, but instead decided to retreat to the 2nd floor and lead the angry mob away from the Senate floor into the direction of awaiting law enforcement. His actions that day prevented a bad situation from getting much worse and most likely prevented further injury and loss of life. Thank you Eugene for your quick thinking and heroics and THANK YOU for
