IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. An assistant principal at an elementary school in Iredell County has been charged with a sex crime against a minor, the school district announced Thursday.
According to Iredell-Statesville Schools, Shaun Michael Bock, of Mooresville, was charged by Mooresville Police with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Bock has been an assistant principal at Coddle Creek Elementary School since July 2020, the district said.
Police said the victim is not a student at the school or at any other Iredell-Statesville campus.
Bock was suspended on Wednesday, Feb. 3 pending an investigation by Mooresville Police and the school system.

MOORESVILLE, NC The number of known COVID-19 cases in Iredell County rose by 1,195 newly confirmed cases last week, according to Iredell County Health Department data released Monday evening.
Since Jan. 1, more than 4,000 new coronavirus cases have been reported in Iredell County, representing about 30 percent of the total 13,400 cases reported in the county since March 2020.
As of Monday, Jan. 26, at least 60 county residents were hospitalized for coronavirus related illness, representing a decrease of about six hospitalizations in the past week. At least 164 Iredell County residents have died from COVID-19, according to ICHD. The death toll includes at least a dozen deaths reported in the county since Jan. 19.
