PV - SEPTA solar farm now operational - Renewable Energy Magazine, at the heart of clean energy journalism

Monday, 15 February 2021 Elk Hill Solar 2, a solar farm in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, developed under a PPA between the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and Lightsource bp, is now in commercial operation. The Elk Hill Solar 2 solar farm was developed and is owned and operated by Lightsource bp and is one of two solar farms that SEPTA and Lightsource bp announced on Earth Day in 2020. The solar farms will generate an estimated 27,377 MWh of clean and affordable solar energy, or nearly 10 percent of SEPTA’s 380,000 MWh per year electricity demand - the equivalent of providing energy to more than 2,500 US homes annually.

Monday, 15 February 2021 Encore Renewable Energy, Bromley Mountain Ski Resort and Tangent Energy Solutions have announced their plans to develop and build a 615 kWdc solar project on land owned by Bromley Mountain in Peru, Vermont. The resort has implemented several sustainability initiatives over the last two decades, including energy efficiency upgrades to their buildings and snowmaking activities. The new project jointly developed by Encore and Tangent Energy Solutions will generate clean, locally generated solar power and help Bromley reach their sustainability goals. Sunwealth, one of Encore’s strategic partners, financed the project and will own and operate it for the life of the system. This project is the 6th collaborative effort between the two companies which has resulted in over $5 million of economic activity in Vermont. PV - Intel Joins PGE s Green Future Impact Program - Renewable Energy Magazine, at the heart of clean energy journalism

Monday, 15 February 2021 Portland General Electric has announced that Intel has joined PGE’s Green Future Impact program. Intel’s participation is enabling PGE to enter into a 15- year agreement with Avangrid Renewables, a subsidiary of Avangrid, Inc., to purchase clean, emissions-free energy from a new 138-megawatt solar facility that will be developed in Wasco County, Oregon. Intel’s purchase is the single largest in PGE’s program; the company joins 17 other businesses and municipalities that have committed to purchase clean power through the Green Future Impact program, filling the program’s original 300-megawatt capacity. Courtesy of PGE Intel signed a 15-year agreement with PGE to enable the development of this additional new solar facility, which it is naming Daybreak Solar.
