Wind - Ørsted Signs PPAs with PepsiCo for Nebraska and Texas Wind Farms - Renewable Energy Magazine, at the heart of clean energy journalism

Amazon Wind, one of Ørsted s wind farms in Texas. We re excited to partner with PepsiCo in their efforts to decarbonize their operations, said Vishal Kapadia, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for Ørsted Onshore. These PPAs at Western Trail and Haystack are another demonstration of our ability to provide customized solutions across multiple geographies to support achievement of corporate sustainability ambitions. Sourcing renewable electricity is a critical step in our journey to more than double our science-based climate goal, reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions by more than 40% by 2030 across our value chain, and our pledge to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, one decade earlier than called for in the Paris Agreement, said Roberta Barbieri, Vice President, Global Sustainability, PepsiCo. We re proud to partner with Ørsted on two new wind projects in Texas and Nebraska this year, which will address nearly a quarter of our total U.S. electricit

Miscellaneous - Siemens Gamesa and Siemens Energy to Unlock Potential of Offshore Green Hydrogen Production - Renewable Energy Magazine, at the heart of clean energy journalism

Thursday, 14 January 2021 To reach the Paris Agreement goals, the world will need vast amounts of green hydrogen and wind will provide a large portion of the power needed for its production. Siemens Gamesa and Siemens Energy announced today that they are joining forces combining their ongoing wind to hydrogen developments to address one of the major challenges of our decade decarbonizing the economy to solve the climate crisis.   Courtesy of Siemens The companies are contributing with their developments to an innovative solution that fully integrates an electrolyzer into an offshore wind turbine as a single synchronized system to directly produce green hydrogen. The companies intend to provide a full-scale offshore demonstration of the solution by 2025/2026. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research announced today that the developments can be implemented as part of the ideas competition Hydrogen Republic of Germany .

Miscellaneous - Total and Engie to develop green hydrogen in France - Renewable Energy Magazine, at the heart of clean energy journalism

Courtesy of Engie Total s biorefinery in La Mède incorporates a 40 MW electrolyser, powered by solar farms with a total capacity of more than 100 MW. The electrolyser will produce 5 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, meeting the needs of the production process of biofuels from the Total biorefinery in La Mède, and displacing 15,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. An innovative management solution for the production and storage of hydrogen will be implemented to manage the intermittency of solar electricity production and the need for continuous supply of the biorefinery. The project thus integrates the implementation of 5 innovations that foreshadow the decarbonisation solutions of Industry, unprecedented in Europe:
