Illinois set another record this week for the daily numbers of COVID-19 vaccines administered, Gov. JB Pritzker said Friday. Though many people in the state’s “1B” category for priority have had difficulty making vaccine appointments because of short supplies in Illinois and across the country, Pritzker said Illinois’ performance is in line with the nation’s largest states. Pritzker said Illinois has put 1.23 million doses of vaccine into the arms of Illinoisans in the “1A” and “1B” categories, which include frontline health care workers, residents and staff in long-term care facilities, people 65 and older and other “essential” workers such as teachers and those in grocery stores.
