Darin LaHood has taken on a big role with the National Republican Congressional Committee and he hasn’t ruled out a run for governor of Illinois.
“Listen, there are a lot of people I respect in the state of Illinois who have asked me to consider the governor’s race,” he told Playbook in a phone interview Thursday. “I’m going to wait and see what happens with our remap and see how the spring legislative session goes and see where we’re at during the summer.”

Happy Thursday, Illinois. Schitt s Creek carried me through the early days of the pandemic, so it seems right that a Schitt s Creek pop-up would open up in Chicago as the end of the pandemic is sort of in sight.
Illinois set another record this week for the daily numbers of COVID-19 vaccines administered, Gov. JB Pritzker said Friday.
Though many people in the state’s “1B” category for priority have had difficulty making vaccine appointments because of short supplies in Illinois and across the country, Pritzker said Illinois’ performance is in line with the nation’s largest states.
Pritzker said Illinois has put 1.23 million doses of vaccine into the arms of Illinoisans in the “1A” and “1B” categories, which include frontline health care workers, residents and staff in long-term care facilities, people 65 and older and other “essential” workers such as teachers and those in grocery stores.
