First winners in All In For The Win COVID vaccine lottery announced

In addition to the prizes, 20 $150,000 scholarships will be awarded to Illinois college students throughout the lottery, with winners announced weekly through Aug. 26. The first three scholarship winners are from Chicago and DeKalb and Cook counties, according to IDPH. Names of the prize recipients were not immediately revealed and won t be without the consent of the winners, per the contest rules. On Aug. 12, 22 winners from regional drawings will be picked. Two winners will be drawn from each of the 11 regions in Gov. JB Pritzker’s Restore Illinois reopening plan. Sangamon County is in Region 3 along with other parts of west-central Illinois.

The lottery is open to residents who have received at least one shot of a COVID-19 vaccine in the state.Winners will be contacted by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
