(NEWTON) The Illinois Department of Transportation has now postponed the railroad crossing improvement work on Illinois Route 130 / Van Buren Street in Newton due to the expected rain today, on this Wednesday. Now scheduled for this coming Friday morning, beginning at 7:00, this portion of road and the railroad crossing will be closed until the work is completed sometime Saturday morning. No traffic will be permitted to cross the tracks during the repair work and motorists are urged to follow the posted detours and to obey all barricades and signs. (CHICAGO) The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 401 new confirmed COVID-19 cases from Tuesday, with only 8 additional deaths reported yesterday.
