Pandemic-affected Jacksonville businesses can apply for assistance through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s Local CURE Economic Support Payments Grant program.
The program will provide grants of up to $10,000. Eligible businesses are restaurants and bars and indoor recreation- or event-related businesses that experienced at least a 25% decrease in revenue from March 1 to Dec. 30. Businesses must be able to prove revenue loss.
The grant can be used for such things as payroll, mortgage or rent, utilities or certain expenses related to making the business safe for employees and customers.
Applications for the grant are available through the city of Jacksonville website. Questions about the program can be directed to the city’s treasurer’s office at 217-479-3512 or mhall@jacksonvilleil.gov.
