MATTESON (WEEK) An Illinois Army National Guard sergeant has been arrested and charged for criminal sexual abuse, authorities said Wednesday.
The Illinois State Police say it was notified by the Illinois National Guard on January 8, 2020, of allegations against 32-year-old Timothy Nichols.
After an investigation by the ISP, the Knox County State s Attorney s office approved two charges of criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony, and one charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 Felony.
Nichols, of Dahinda, was taken into custody but posted $10,000 bond and was released.
No other information on the allegations or investigation was provided by the Illinois State Police.
