Off-duty police officer involved in traffic crash in East St. Louis

Centreville police officer was involved in a two-car crash Wednesday at the intersection of
Illinois 157 south and
Jamal Jackson, 41, of
Illinois State Police.
Christopher Watson said ISP was called to the scene at
2:19 p.m. The intersection was partially closed for the investigation, but all lanes were reopened at approximately 3:23 p.m, he said.
State police said a preliminary investigation determined that a 34-year-old driver named
India Patterson, of
East St. Louis, was traveling south on
Illinois 157 and failed to obey a traffic light. She struck Jackson s unmarked squad car on the driver s side door, ISP said.
