ALTON Patrick G. King of MillerKing has become a certified/approved mediator by Illinois State Bar Association in lawsuits and civil cases.
Mediation is non-binding alternative dispute resolution process to settle and resolve cases and legal issues. A mediator serves as a neutral third-party trained in the law and dispute resolution process to bring closure and resolution.
In addition to mediation, King practices and concentrates in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death and municipal law. He representing Alton’s Civil Service Commission, the Village of New Douglas, the Village of Glen Carbon Police Commission, the Village of Maryville Police & Fire Commission and the Village of St. Jacob Zoning Board Administrator.

Megan Ryan grew up visiting law offices because of her uncle being a Winchester-based attorney and her mother being a legal secretary.
But the path to being an attorney and following in their footsteps as she graduated from Winchester High School in 2014 didn’t really appeal to her so she thought.
In Memoriam: Richard L. Thies Share:
We are very saddened to inform you that Richard (Dick) L. Thies, former ABA Board member, passed away peacefully on April 10 at the age of 89. Dick is survived by his wife, brother and sister, five children, sixteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Dick served the ABA in many capacities over the years. He served in the House of Delegates for 27 years – most notably as the Illinois State Delegate from 1994-2005 and as a member of the ABA Board of Governors from 1988-1991. He served as Chair of the Senior Lawyers Division. He was also very active in the Illinois State Bar Association and served as its president from 1986-1987.
When Cardinal Joseph Bernardin was falsely accused of child sexual abuse in 1993, Chicago attorney James A. Serritella, led the successful defense of the popular archbishop. Serritella, who was was known as the draftsman of modern-day nationwide policies to combat child sex abuse, died April 23 at age 78.
