Cris Edwards, Principal for the Richland County Elementary School, and Dana Baker, Director of Mentor Richland County, have jointly received the 2021 Reaching Out & Building Bridges Award from the IPA. Created to recognize an IPA principal or assistant principal, and an agency, association, or community member displaying an outstanding effort in creating partnerships between schools, principals, associations, and organizations for the betterment of all. The current school-based one-on-one youth mentoring program at ERES in Olney serves 60 children in Richland County who face adversity and are in need of individual attention. Among the mentors are high school juniors and/or seniors, plus college students and adults from the communit

Winchester Principal Named Middle School Principal of the Year

Principal Andy Stumpf has been named the Illinois Middle School Principal of the Year by Horace Mann and the Illinois Principals Association. According to the announcement, the award recognizes middle school principals who have demonstrated a positive impact on their students and learning community. Stumpf has served as principal at Winchester Elementary/Junior High School for the last 5 years. He previously served as principal at Brussels Junior/Senior High School in Brussels and taught math at Carrollton Grade School. Stumpf who was named Middle School Principal of the Year by the Two Rivers Region a couple of months ago, says the honor would not be possible if it were not for the help of his team at Winchester, especially during the pandemic.
