The Illinois Rental Payment Program opened Monday to provide financial relief to residents behind on rent payments due to COVID-19-related losses or reductions in income, as well as those experiencing increased expenses.
The program will cover up to 12 months of missed rent payments and up to 3 months of future rent payments, providing a maximum of 15 months of financial relief or $25,000 in federal funding, according to a Monday news release.
